ACTS 17:16

Acts 17:16 – “While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols.”

Idols sound so ancient. Stone statues, wooden images made with hands. But are we that much different? Way back then they made things with their hands, inanimate objects that they bowed down to and sacrificed for.

We've just chosen different inanimate objects as idols: career, pleasure, luxury, perception, success. It's easy to believe they'll fulfill us and make us happy, so we worship them by sacrificing to and prioritizing them. But Jesus is the only way to true satisfaction and meaning.
